Cllr Tom Pickup, the Reform UK county councillor for Padiham and Burnley West, has been appointed Cabinet Member for Adult Social Care on Lancashire County Council.
The appointment was made by the Leader, Cllr Stephen Atkinson, on 22 May 2026, with Cllr Pickup taking the portfolio over from Cllr Graham Dalton. In moving to the Cabinet, Cllr Pickup stepped down from his previous role as the council’s Lead Member for Finance and Resources, which he held during 2025/26.
Adult social care is one of the largest and most important things the county council does. It supports older and vulnerable people across Lancashire, and it is one of the biggest pressures on the council’s budget. Having a Burnley councillor in this role means our area has a direct voice on a service that matters to thousands of local families.
