Bad roads are the issue residents raise with us more than any other. Roads in Burnley and Padiham are looked after by Lancashire County Council, which Reform UK has run since May 2025.
Since the Reform administration took charge, the county’s queue of outstanding road defects has fallen from 61,063 in September 2024 to 35,514 by September 2025. That is a 42 per cent reduction in a year, backed by a record highways budget.
There is a long way to go, and not every street has seen the difference yet. Our four Reform county councillors for the Burnley area are pushing for that repair programme to reach every neighbourhood, not just the main routes.
Locally, when residents report a pothole to us, we log it, chase it, and follow up until it is fixed rather than just added to a list. If there is a road near you that needs attention, let us know.
