Reform UK councillor Alan Hosker has been appointed Deputy Mayor of Burnley.
The appointment was made at the council’s Annual Meeting on Wednesday 20 May 2026 at Burnley Town Hall, where Councillor Saeed Chaudhary was appointed Mayor of Burnley for 2026/27.
Cllr Hosker represents the Hapton with Park ward and also chairs the council’s Development Control Committee, which decides planning applications. As Deputy Mayor he supports the Mayor in the civic and ceremonial duties that represent Burnley and Padiham at events across the borough.
The roles of Mayor and Deputy Mayor stand above party politics. They are about representing the whole town with pride and dignity. We congratulate Cllr Hosker on taking up the role and wish both him and the new Mayor well for the year ahead.
